Easter 2010, 1 of 3

It has been exactly one week since we’ve returned from our Easter trip, and I’ve finally sorted through all the hundreds of photos! We’ve been getting together with my Dad’s side of the family for Easter for almost my whole life. I have a couple of early memories of spending Easter with my mom’s side, but for the most part — for my entire life — we’ve spent Easter in the Worcester Massachusetts area with my father’s side of the family. Since Braydon met me fifteen years ago he’s only spent one Easter anywhere else (the year that we were both in Charleston, South Carolina and did not come back ‘north’ for the holiday). Suffice it to say, this is a serious family tradition. This year was bittersweet as it was the first year without Grandma Lorraine. But Grandpa Les lifted up all of our spirits to the highest heights by his complete focus on the positive and his never-ending optimistic and faithful view on life. He is really a model for us all. This year we rented a VRBO house on a lake near Worcester for three nights. It was an unusually warm and gorgeous weekend. On Saturday we had our annual family gathering. There are nine kids in K,O,M’s generation now. Five cousins (plus all of our significant others) who came this year from my generation. And a whole bunch of “grown ups” (my parents generation). Then there is the patriarch of the whole group: my grandfather. We had a wonderful day. And a wonderful whole weekend. Highlights included~~ the gorgeous house we rented; the party on Saturday (including the Easter Bunny’s Hunt!!!); playing at the lake (and just a couple of jumpers-in– you can imagine who those two were— brrrrrrrrrrrrrr!); baseball with MorFar; books with MorMor; the Easter Bunny’s visit to the kids’ baskets; Easter Sunday service at Trinity; bourbon and cigars for the manly folk; great food and great times for all. The best Easter ever– for sure.

Thanks Heather for recapping with photos the memories of a great weekend. You captured some super moments! Love the one of Kyle and Owen playing with Mark and getting the goal. Love Sadie at the porch with Meera. Love the boys at the door of Trinity Lutheran Church. xo MorMor
