For their 8th birthday, Kyle and Owen’s gift from MorMor and MorFar was tickets to see the Red Sox play the Texas Rangers in Fenway Park on August 8th, 2012! For three months K & O waited with much anticipation for the big day. It was yesterday. This was a day of truly epic proportions. It was one of the best days of their life. Sad but true: they both cried themselves to sleep last night mourning and grieving that the day was over. Truly. It was huge for them.
It was huge! Their first game at Fenway Park. Their mom, their grandfather, their great-grandfather all had their own First Game at Fenway. This was Kyle and Owen’s turn. It was historic — especially for them and their MorFar. I am so glad we waited until they were 8 years old; they enjoyed and appreciated every single minute of this epic day.
We had four tickets– MorFar, Mommy, Kyle, Owen. It was everything — I mean, EVERYTHING — that each of us had dreamed of.
I think we will always remember this day. But just to jog our memories, here are the photo reminders.
The first picture speaks volumes. Look at how the gentleman behind you is looking at your family. He has the biggest smile on his face. It’s like he knows how blessed your boys are.
Sweet day for everyone!! Somehow, hot dogs and peanuts always taste better at a baseball game.

Tell Kyle and Owen I’m so jealous. I want to see a game at Fenway one day. I’ve never been, and I’m almost 40. One day we will come from Oregon to Boston just to see a game there.
I don’t comment often, but I have to say this post made me smile. I love, love, love baseball and to imagine to sports-loving boys like Kyle and Owen having their first big game experience at Fenway! That looks amazing. Baseball games are always so much fun, even if ur not into baseball. I’ve never actually been inside of Fenway, but when I was visiting some cousins up in Mass, one of my friends from college took me to Boston and we did some bar hopping, and one of the bars was right underneath the ball-park. Glad u guys had a good time there!!!
Five bucks for hot dog? That’s crazy, they’re only 3.50 at Yankee Stadium last I saw.
