We have been back to the fairy forest many times since Meera’s birthday party. It feels different each time we see it. In the rain it is different than in the sun. In the cold it is different than in the heat. In the wind it is different than in the still. In the early morning it is different than in the dark. We’ve re-visited it during all those times, and it is magical in all of them.

Meera had a great birthday. But I surely enjoyed it most of all. More than anything it took out of me, it filled me up. I loved doing it.

    Heather,
Again, a smile was brought to my face…. Maddie had a fairy birthday when she was 6 and the memories of the innocence and pure joy came flooding back. Enjoy every single solitary minute with the kiddos, they grow up so very fast! Happy Birthday Meera, and thank you Heather for sharing the magic with all of us.

I had to read every entry (all 8 of them) before I would allow myself to comment. It was truly a magical birthday. The idea of creating the fairy houses for the fairy forest was pure genius. What a wonderful birthday, full of fantasy and imagination. Wow!!!

Thank you for sharing all of this. I feel so privileged to have been allowed to read about it. Your kids are lucky to have you as their mom.

Will you leave them in the woods? Do you think they will last?
What a wonderful and magical experience.

    • Heather says:

Christy, the plan is to leave them. So far they are lasting great through rain and wind. Not sure how they will hold up over time or in snow/ice. Thanks for the question! And thanks for reading, Heather

I would so love a fairy party for me!!! It was fabulous! I may be 60 years old but I love and believe in fairies too!! I actually have 5 fairy gardens and often find mail in the ones little mail box! Not sure who but someone in my family or neighborhood love them as much as I do. You are one special mom and grandma to do all that, she will remember it all forever!!!

Amazing! The amount of detail you and your mom put into creating the fairy forest… I have no words.

I can’t believe I’ve been reading your blog for 7-ish years. I have been enjoying the journey.
