Kyle’s Surgery Today

Posted by | June 09, 2011 | Uncategorized | 20 Comments

The good news: Kyle’s surgery went perfectly today. He was a brave, brave boy with his brother by his side every step of the way. The surgeon is extraordinary and did fabulous work in the OR. The nurses all doted over our boys, telling us what amazing kids they are, remarking on their obvious close twinship, and raving about what an excellent patient Kyle is. As far as Kyle and Owen are concerned, the lump is out and the whole ordeal is over and done with for good.

The other news: The rest of us, who know a bit more about these things than any seven year old ever should, now sit and wait for the pathology results.

Thank you to the best blog readers in the whole universe. Your thoughts and prayers, emails and comments were/are so appreciated!

Oh thank you so much for taking the time to write this post to keep us all in the loop. I’m so glad to hear that surgery went well and I am continuing to hope, pray and send positive vibes for you all during this period and for the pathology results. Kudos to Kyle for his bravery, and strength and to Owen for his bravery, strength and compassion to stand beside his brother literally and figuratively through this.
Take care and wishing you all a relaxing weekend.

Glad Owen was able to be there to offer support to Kyle. You are correct, their twinship bond is amazing. However, I believe the great parenting skills you two possess truly helped to forge their bond. I’ll continue to send positive thoughts your way as you await the results.

  • Melanie says:

Thinking good thoughts. Our (at the time) 12 month old had to be under general anesthesia and it’s a nightmare for parents the whole time. Hoping the biopsy is benign benign benign.

  • Anna says:

Oh…haven’t been reading lately and I am so glad that the surgery went well and Owen is home now. Sending positive vibes and prayers from across the ocean as well and hope that those results are NEGATIVO!

Hugs to K and O and little M, and big hugs to the whole family as we wait out this nail-biting time. Heaven is on your side, Haiti momma is looking on and looking out for her baby.

So glad to hear the procedure went well. Loving the pictures of K & O, so connected as always. Hoping that this process was the worst of the situation and that the summer brings nothing but adventures and joy.

  • Twinsplus3 says:

So happy that Owen was allowed to be there for his brother. The picture of Kyle literally leaning on his brother’s leg brings tears to my eyes. God bless you and Brandon for not separating twins and for willing to adopt both. I cannot imagine how life would be for them if they had been separated. Love that twinny bond! ( I’ m a twin myself, and also have a set + 3 singletons!)
Praying for a clean path result.
