This post is mainly for MorFar. He’d be so proud of his boys.
On Sunday Kyle and Owen got to attend a baseball winter clinic at Lehigh. The clinic is part of the same program as the Lehigh Baseball Camp that K & O love. It was a hitting clinic. The boys loved it.
Owen is experimenting with going back to hitting Lefty (he used to do most everything left-handed until he was about 4, and then — sadly — under pressure from teachers at their old school, he morphed into Righty). At the clinic he learned all about being a “Switch Hitter,” and definitely got the message that switch hitting is an asset (the coaching staff and other boys thought it was pretty cool that he would even try switch hitting, and this left quite an impression on Owen). He’s now pretty gung-ho about the whole idea. As for Kyle, well, anyone who knows Kyle knows that he’s pretty gung-ho about anything related to any sport whatsoever. Yesterday, in the car, driving home after basketball practice, the boys were in the backseat discussing their grand plans for more basketball in the driveway upon our return home. It was pitch dark, freezing cold, and getting late. I said, “Boys, you are NOT going to play basketball when we get home, you are going to RELAX while I cook dinner.” They were all bent out of shape about that, and letting me know it. “Boys!,” I said, “There is more to life than playing basketball!” Kyle instantly retorted back: “Yeah, like playing baseball! and playing soccer! and playing football!” Huh?! Where did these kids come from? Like I said, MorFar, this post’s for you! xo

LOL! Love your conversation exchange with the boys at the end – I laughed out loud and thought – ‘oh wow, what will the future hold for your two – their pure talent, energy and drive is remarkable but it’s wonderful to read that you encourage them to just chillax….much to their dismay!! Sorry to hear Owen morphed into a Righty due to teachers’ pressure but that’s awesome that he can be a “Switch Hitter”!! Go Kyle and Owen!!

why were they teaching him to be right handed? Seriously?
