Happy 2nd Birthday Meera Grace!

This little soul, whose coming to our family at first took us totally by surprise (what a shock that little baby brewing was!), has not stopped surprising us with her joyful presence and sweet persona. Even her arrival into this world — two weeks late, and by emergency c-section, after over 26 hours of induction and labor — was a complete surprise in its content and form. Not only was her mama surprised that she could get through all that so blissfully drug-free, enjoying every moment, but her entire family was surprised by their new baby’s stunningly calm demeanor and light-and-bubbly way-of-being. This baby has been a joyful center of our universe for the past two years. She delights us daily. She gets us giddy in our heart-full chests. She frustrates us with her emerging little temper– and then she brings us to our knees with full-blown adoration. She is a pride and joy. Not a day goes by that we don’t marvel in how perfectly she completes our family. Meera Grace is everything we could have hoped for if we had ever dared to hope. And we are grateful for every day that we get to spend with her. The future for her is so bright that it is almost blinding– too hard to even imagine what will become of her. So, for now, we just soak up every second of the here-and-now with this little baby bundle who is –right before our very eyes– growing up to be such a special little girl.
