Meera Grace was a joy to be with for the week Heather and Braydon took Kyle and Owen on vacation to the Dominican Republic in May shortly after they turned 6. I really LOVED being able to have extended time with her. She and I bonded totally. We are forever buddies!

Don and I arrived in PA on Sunday at noon in order to make sure Meera was reacquainted with us. We had just spent some time with them all for the twin’s birthday so she was totally comfortable with us.  At 6 am Monday morning when she awoke and they were gone I explained (as I’d been told to say) that Mommy, Papi, Kyle and Owen were on a “Work Trip”. She understood totally I think, meaning that she knew they were away and would be back sometime. She didn’t ask for them or cry at all, she didn’t worry or stress at all – really. (A BIG relief for me!) Heather and Braydon had done a great job preparing her.

We had a fantastic week. Meera must have said 200 times on Monday, and 100 times on Tuesday, and 50 times on Wednesday, etc. “Hi MorMor” or “Hello MorMor” she was just checking in to make sure I was still there. I was the consistent one. Don had work to do and meetings to go to so he was in and out all week. Margie came 3 days and mostly helped out the J-M’s with cleaning projects she wanted to do. (What a gem she is!)

Some of our highlights were Garden Gate or as Meera calls it “Baby Day” at the Waldorf School on Monday morning.  Going to the playground at Peace Valley Park and the Bethlehem rail walk (where we’d hoped to go for long stroller walks but in reality she wouldn’t stay in the stroller for more than 15 minutes before wanting to get out), ice cream cones ( her first cone we found out later) at Owowcow where they make organic ice cream with all local dairy, fruits and honey, Rita’s custard ice cream with colored sprinkles (the sprinkles were also a first we also found out). There was lots of time with Meera outside jumping on the trampoline, sometimes naked (oh my!), playing in the sandbox, and the play house. Inside we listened to Lion King over and over on the CD player while she danced and with MorFar she’d sit for long stretches watching the Lion King on YouTube on his computer. Another favorite was gathering up her bathing suits and having me help her get as many as 4 on her at one time! She loves to read books and have them read to her. What a wonderful, sweet baby.

Meera’s favorite foods were strawberries, blueberries, bananas, pears, yogurt, chicken (balk-balk she calls it), and pasta. She asked for and drank lots of water. Never asked for juice or milk although she had a bottle of milk at nap and bedtime which put her right to sleep!

The week went by fast. Don left to pick the J-M’s up on Saturday evening and shortly after Meera went off to bed not knowing she’d see them all in the morning! Before I knew it Kyle and Owen were bounding in the door full of stories about their wonderful vacation trip. Their hugs and kisses felt so great! They looked like they’d grown 2 more inches! The vacation was all they’d hoped it would be. Monday morning seeing them all together again was beautiful. What a wonderful family. I feel so blessed. Life is great.
