When I was two, I had a similar experience – my parents had enrolled me in a Montessori school that was, by all accounts, “the best.” She took the time to listen to me, too, when I communicated that I wasn’t happy there. In fact, it was one of her favorite stories and I think proudest parent moments – how firmly and clearly I let her know that place wasn’t right to me. Having a parent who listens to you is a wonderful gift. It gets harder, as you get older, of course – to navigate what you know is right for you versus what the expectations are… but with a foundation like my Mother set for me and like you’ve set for Meera, it’s easier to know that you can know yourself and stand up for what you know is right for you.
Haha!!! Love it!!! Super cool kids!!! I can so see this photo replicated when they’re going off to College!
