The fun about birthdays like Meera’s 4th is that they just last and last. The memories are seeped in us. The joy is not just in the moments, but in the moments long, long after. We talk about it together for days and days (and weeks and months and years) later. Remembering certain moments, recalling certain happenings. “Remember when we tried to do the twin ‘Human Bubble’ and Meera kept popping it?!” “Remember when we went to pick up Lucinda and it was her first time ever going to a birthday party?!” “Remember how Meera ate so many marshmallows that she couldn’t even eat her birthday cake?!” Meera smiles when she thinks about her birthday. She felt singled out, special, and celebrated. So… goal accomplished.

Long after the guests had all left, and most of the party had been all cleaned up and put away, and we had all recovered from the absolutely-over-the-top-hoopla-that-Mama-creates-with-these-birthday-PAR-TAYS-to-the-9th-degree… we still had the big-time bubble-makings sitting on our deck (no need to rush getting rid of those!)… and for days and days after, the bambinos played and played and played with those bubble-makings. It was a “Tea & Bubbles Party” that lasted… and lasted… and lasted. Hopefully it will sit in her soul for a long, long, long time. So that down the road, when she needs to draw on it, which she (most unfortunately) most certainly will, she’ll have these seeped-in moments of love and joy and complete unabashed adoration to pull from. This is a sweet and special girl. And we won’t back down from celebrating her in our lives. We are so honored, Meera, to have you with us. You complete us with your witty charm, and your sassy sappy ways, and your unique perspective on a life worth fully living. Thank you for being you. You are so, so, so loved. You are the real deal.
xoxo, Mommy

Beautiful!! Her birthday cake is so so pretty, like a wedding cake!! Kyle looks so happy as he presents Meera with her first Barbie !
Where did you get those cake shaped favor boxes?? Love them!!

  • Your birthday parties and all the pictures always make me smile. Oprah always says, “The love is in the details.” If that’s true than those parties are just dripping with love! Happy late birthday, Meera!
