Yesterday was Meera’s first day of “real school” (i.e., “not daycare”), at United Friends School, with her brothers. These three have been waiting forever to all go to school at the same place. The year has come! Meera will be going to school three days a week. On Tuesdays and Thursdays a fabulous student/babysitter (my first choice pick! who — lucky for us — could fit it into her schedule this semester!) will be hanging out with Meera at home on campus.
A very happy and “super super excited” (her words) Meera started pre-K yesterday. She headed off with her brothers…
…on the school bus (!!!!). She did not bat an eye. She was nothing but smiles from start to finish. She had a great day! She was pure Meera.
(and yay!!! we got a new camera! as you can tell from these photos!)
(and yes! Meera picked out her own back-to-school outfit!)
WHAT A GRIN! Meera’s such a beautiful, happy little girl.
She is adorable!
SO cute! And such a big girl going on the school bus with her brothers!
I need to invite Meera over to consult on my wardrobe. Girl’s got it figured OUT.
I have been following your blog for a bit now, and have decided it’s time to tell you how much my family admires your family. We love hearing about your adventures, and think you guys are so inspiring and cute! My almost-three-year-old son has a MAJOR crush on Meera. Every time he sees a picture of her he says, “There’s my girlfriend! Can we go find her so I can kiss her?!?!” This is pretty funny since my son doesn’t like kids his age (or anywhere close to his age), and he has shown NO interest in girls whatsoever. So I’ve heard that your boys have pre-arranged marriages, but is Meera still free? I have a very adamant little boy who thinks he has found the love of his life…
You are too funny!!!! Thank you so much for this blog comment Heidi. Whoever you are, wherever you are– please know that this made my week!!! Sometimes I feel like just quitting blogging… and then I get a comment like this one and it just inspires me so much. Thank you.
As for a pre-arranged marriage for Meera— yes, she is still available!!! 😉
However, Meera says she is “NEVER” getting married, so we have to hope she changes her mind! ;-0
Lots of love to you and yours,
and thank you so much for reading along on our journey,
Heather
Well if Meera ever changes her mind, my little Calvin has called dibs on her!!! I’ll have to send you a picture of him sometime so you can see what a cute little couple they’d make. 😉
Also, please don’t stop blogging! I found your blog while researching adoption and adoption blogs. Your blog has been so refreshing and fun to read, and it would be sad to have someone else looking and not find your blog as an awesome example of a successful adoption story. Just sayin’…
Heidi
Yay for Meera! Looking beautifully dressed as always! Enjoy your first year of School Meera
