It was a Saturday morning. We were decorating the Christmas tree in our pajamas. Braydon had Christmas music playing, and my favorite Christmas song came on. I hardly even noticed it until I caught my son’s eye. He was standing to the side of the tree, looking past everything, looking at me. “Do you want to dance?” he asked. I stopped. I heard the song. I put down the ornament I was holding. He walked toward me. I said, “Yes!” He took my hand. And we danced one of the most beautiful slow dances of my whole 41-year-old life.
This just made my heart absolutely melt. Such a beautiful photo and I thank you for sharing this touching moment with your readers. It helped make me smile and feel hopeful this holiday season.
Did you see the word JOY on your window? It captures the moment perfectly.
Oh my word, why did I start sobbing when I read this post? LOL As a mom of boys (22yrs and soon to be 15yrs) I think it so moving that he wants to dance with his mama! So sweet.
Warms my heart. XO
How sweet is he!
Gosh, you made me tear up. Just lovely.
What a precious memory for future years.
I just read your snow day post and was nodding my head in solidarity. Then I scrolled down to this one and the tears just came. There is nothing quite like the love of a boy for his mamma. I’m lucky enough to have a dancing/cuddling boy myself. It’s the best. Have a wonderful Christmas. We’re celebrating in Ethiopia this year (our daughter’s birth country) and enjoying the break from the consumerist frenzy that Xmas has become in North America. May yours be filled with more dancing, more cuddling and more love.
Simply Precious!
