If you had told me five years ago (or even one year ago) that my son, at age 10, would choose to relax by the pool in a chaise lounge reading a book… well… I would have told you that you’re nuts and that you don’t know my kid! But, there he is — Kyle — at age 10, chillaxing at the pool with his book. And it isn’t just a fluke. It is day after day after day. Dreamy!
Wow. That is my fantasy. My son. Near water. Immersed in a tome of great interest or adventure. Sigh…
Way to go, Kyle old boy. Some of my sweetest summer memories are of myself lounging across my bed reading Nancy Drew or The Bobbsey Twins’ Mysteries (which were a little dated, even in my time) during hot afternoons. I actually pity those who never caught the hang of purely pleasurable reading as a kid.
