Every year it is an event (click here for years past). This year did not disappoint. There was egg blowing and egg breaking; there was the making of creative masterpieces; there was egg dye everywhere; and there were hands semi-permanently stained— a good reminder that we managed to fulfill, yet again, to the max, in never-a-dull-moment-fashion, one of our favorite annual traditions: The Great Easter Egg Decorating Event of 2011.
You are such a good mom… the mess to clean up after is more than most would want to deal with! Traditions like this are what make memories and how wonderful that your kids have so many wonderful memories. They will be decorating Easter eggs with their kids one day too. xo
I just love reading your posts and looking at the pictures to go along. You and Braydon always seem to transform a common activity into an extra special event for your children. I think that is so wonderful. Happy Easter to you and your family!
Love reading about your traditions, even the messy-drive-mama-crazy ones (or maybe especially those???)
Happy Easter to you all.
Such fun! What do you do with all the egg insides? That would be a lot of eggnog.
Most of the eggs are hard-boiled– we eat them for breakfast for days leading up to Easter and days following! Nothing like an easter egg for breakfast! yum! The few that we blow-out we have lots of uses for: quiche! omelets! frittata! scrambled eggs (Meera’s favorite: with ham and cheese mixed in / K&O’s favorite: with cream cheese and fresh tarragon mixed in)! then, of course, there’s Braydon’s favorite: egg salad! lots of uses for eggs around here — breakfast, lunch, and dinner! yum!
Happy Easter! Those are really cool eggs!! Glad to see your lovely wood table is virtually stain free! What fun – I will always treasure holiday traditions too.
